Why is Youth wasted on the Young ?

Yes, Wilde, you were correct all along !

I work from home, but occasionally, I change my setting by heading to a nearby Starbucks. This particular one is close to various educational institutions, so I often observe the youthful crowd while preparing my lessons.

As a middle-aged teacher, there’s a strong temptation to intervene when I see students skipping classes and engaging in trivial chatter about crushes. I feel compelled to urge them to focus on their studies and career, considering the significant investment their parents make. However, I refrain from scolding them, remembering my own youthful days filled with similar activities 😀.

I recognize that the journey from making mistakes to experiencing regrets and eventually gaining wisdom is an inevitable part of youth, essential for personal growth.

I strongly hold the belief that life truly commences at the age of 40. While a small percentage may have everything figured out before reaching this magical milestone, for the majority of us, 40 is the point at which we start comprehending the world around us, our own selves and our mortality. That’s when we start focusing on what truly matters to us.

As the saying goes, the importance lies in the journey rather than the destination. Life can be viewed as a mere means to an end, or alternatively, as an opportunity to embrace and savor all the experiences it presents.

☘️ Hope you enjoyed this.
