The 4 of Us

Movie Review

Movie Poster

The film "Three of Us" explores two main themes.

The first one is Udgam (source; ex.source of a river or stream is the place where it begins)

The source or origin of our actions as adults is often rooted in our childhood experiences. These known and unknown incidents work silently in the background, influencing our present.

So the role of a therapist is to bring these underlying factors to light, helping us understand what triggers our emotions and motivations allowing us to gain insight into the source code of our mental processes, ultimately leading to a better understanding of ourselves.

The second theme is Memory.

Can we have any significance without our memory? My physical state may be intact, but if I were to lose my memory, what purpose would I serve — to myself — as I am left stuck in the twilight zone.

The protagonist experiences the loss of her memory, leading to a profound shift in her perception of life. Despite being physically well, the absence of her memories threatens to erode her sense of identity, causing her to gradually fade into obscurity.

The script is rock solid, the camera work is beautiful and Shefali, multi faceted Swanand, and Jaideep are outstanding. The location chosen for the movie is bang on.

A great film immerses you in the emotions and perspectives of the main characters, offering a glimpse into their inner world as if you were experiencing it firsthand. This is precisely what this movie accomplishes.

I watched it on the big screen but do watch it once it becomes available on OTT platforms.
