Still, I would like to emphasize why you should consider watching this movie.
This film stands out as an exceptional guide in the art of storytelling. It provides invaluable insights into the intricacies of crafting a captivating narrative. Anyone familiar with the process of writing a story understands that the middle portion can often be the most challenging. However, in this particular movie, the writer adeptly employs a subplot to create a profound impact, further enhanced by the outstanding performances of the entire cast.
At its core, the movie is a romantic comedy, chronicling a young man’s search for a partner, with each attempt culminating in failure. In less skilled hands, it might have fallen short, but the director and writer, Mr. Mithran Jawahar, introduces the father-son relationship as an additional storyline, which greatly strengthens the narrative during the critical middle segment, where many films tend to lose their momentum.
I enjoy witnessing the extent to which a scriptwriter is willing to delve into depicting a genuine family altercation. A less dedicated writer might only scratch the surface of such a conflict. However, a skilled writer would have the characters lay bare their deepest emotions, and that’s precisely what occurs in a crucial scene in this film. Well done, indeed!
Consider setting aside some time over the weekend, or watching it in two parts if viewing on weekdays, as the movie runs for more than two hours.The songs are melodious and well-crafted, the cinematography is excellent. Dhanush excels not only as an actor but also as a good dancer. Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja and Prakash Raj have done an excellent job.
Even though I don’t understand Tamil, the subtitles proved to be extremely beneficial. It’s available on Amazon Prime on OTT.
