Smashing Physics 💕

Boring Equations 🫤

Consider this scenario: You’re eager to understand how a specific entity operates. Typically, you’d dissect it into its components, analyze each part, and draw conclusions about its overall functionality.

However, if you can’t break it down, you resort to force—smashing it. The more force applied, the more intricately you can examine it, but this demands a substantial amount of energy. For instance, Nuclear physicists, in their quest to unravel the secrets of atoms and their constituents, employ colossal colliders for this purpose. Essentially, these colliders function like Cyclotrons, wherein charged particles whirl within magnetic and electric fields, accumulating energy before colliding with their counterparts.

When I first encountered Cyclotron in my physics textbook at around 18, it stood out amidst the sea of equations—a brilliant illustration of applying boring fundamental principles to tangible real-world scenarios in a glamorous way. And for an explicable reason, I was hooked on to Michael Faraday at that time.

What captivates me is this- within the monotony of academics — science, math, or any other subject — a person related to the field or a topic — can unexpectedly offer a gem that ignites a lifelong passion in a young student.

The fascination sparked by Michael Faraday and Cyclotrons led me to develop a deep affection for Physics. Despite excelling in Mathematics, it is with Physics that I truly resonate, even though comprehending it is a consistent challenge! ❤️‍🩹
